On January 1, 2025 all outstanding 2024 property taxes were moved to arrears and an interest charge of 8.45% (effective January 1, 2025) will be applied. Any outstanding 2023 property taxes that were in arrears have now been moved to delinquent status. If these delinquent property taxes (plus any delinquent interest) are not paid by Friday, September 26, 2025, the property will go for Tax Sale on Monday, September 29, 2025.

- Anticipated Mailing Date: last week of May, 2025
- Due Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2025
- Penalty Date: A 10% penalty will be added to any current balances outstanding (including unclaimed home owner grants) on July 3, 2025.

Property owners are responsible for payment of their annual property taxes by the due date, whether or not they receive a property tax notice. Contact the Finance Department if you have not received your property tax notice by the second week in June.
The Municipality has no authority to either waive or modify these penalty amounts. It is a requirement of the Local Government Act that these penalties be added. Click here for the provincial government site for more information.
Change of Address
The City of Mission is obligated to issue tax notices using the mailing address provided by BC Assessment.

January 31, 2025
- Last day to appeal your 2024 property assessment.
July 2, 2025
- Property Tax Payments due date.
- Home Owner Grant due date.
- Property Tax Deferment Applications due date.
August 2025
- Pre-Authorized Debit Plan (PADP) deductions start for 2026 property taxes (August 2025 to May 2026) on the 15th of each month.
- PADP applications submitted by the 5th of each month will receive the first deduction on the 15th of that same month except for June and July (no payments are processed in June or July).
- Any changes (i.e. banking information or pre-authorized amount) must be received by the 5th of each month.
August 29, 2025
- Last day to have delinquent property taxes and interest paid to avoid property being reported in the newspaper.
September 26, 2025
- Last day to pay your delinquent property taxes and interest to avoid tax sale.
September 29, 2025
- Tax Sale Day (10:00 am in Council Chambers).
December 31, 2025
- Last day to claim 2024 Retro Home Owner Grant.
- Last day to claim 2025 Home Owner Grant.
- Last day to pay current taxes before they become arrears and start to accrue interest.
- Last day to submit 2025 Property Tax Deferment Application.
